Some hints:

If you are declined for a credit card, do not keep applying for others, this will only lower your credit score. Get a copy of your credit report and find out what the problem is so you can try to correct it if it is an error.

Credit bureaus sometimes receive erroneous information and it ends up on the wrong credit report. If you find a mistake, report it to the credit bureaus and get it corrected.

If you co-sign for someone, you are as responsible as they are for payments. Therefore, if they default, or are late with payments, it hurts your credit. Think long and hard before cosigning.

Only apply for credit cards you know you are qualified to receive.

You can rebuild your credit by getting legitimate errors on your credit report corrected and applying for cards for which you will qualify. You then must use them responsibly, make all payments on time and be vigilant in checking your credit report regularly.
