Five Reasons To Check Your Credit Report

Can Consumers Fight Credit Fraud?

Please note, before sending us an email concerning you credit card or other issues please read this information, it may give you your answer.

We are an internet marketing company, not a credit card issuer, bank or lender. We do no email marketing, send no solicitations through the mail and have no way to stop such materials. You can opt out from receiving offers in the mail by contacting the credit bureaus and filing a form with them to opt out of mass mailings.

We will be glad to assist you in any way we can but please note the following:

  -    We have no information on or access to anyone's credit card applications or accounts and can only recommend you contact the bank directly if you have any questions regarding your account. If you need help finding contact information feel free to ask us, we can usually find it for you and are glad to help, but remember, it is almost always on your credit card or statement.

  -  If you find a credit card or other entry on a credit report that you question, you need to send a letter to the credit bureau(s) questioning the particular entry. They have 30 days to respond and correct or remove the entry as appropriate.

  -   If you need to know how to pay your bill online you need to contact the card issuer. There is usually a number to call on your statement or the back of your card.

  -   If your card was lost or stolen call the numbers below if you do not have the customer service number for the card (again check your statement for a contact number):

Visa 800 847-2911    Mastercard  800-622-7747  American Express 1-800-297-7672

Note - the AMEX number is actually their Identity Theft line, we could not find a separate number for a lost or stolen card but will update this page when we do.

    - IMPORTANT  - If you receive an email from a bank, credit card, Paypal, eBay, a credit union, or anyone else telling you your account, credit card or whatever information needs to be updated/changed for any reason DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK in the email. Delete the email. If you think it is legitimate, but not sure, call the company's customer service number and ask.

This is called "phising". The email is almost assuredly not from the apparent sender but from someone trying to get your personal information ( account numbers, date of birth, SS#) etc. to pose as you, open accounts in your name, or use your existing accounts. This is one way identity theft occurs and it can really make a mess of your life for years and destroy your credit.

If a company you have an account with actually needs you to change some information and they do send you and email, it should tell you to go to their site as you normally would and instruct you on what to do once there. For example, a bank we deal with recently made some major changes to their online banking site and procedures that required a small change in the sign-in procedure. They did not have a link to the site, but simply told me to go to my online banking center and make the changes.

If you really need to update any information online, go to the company's site using your bookmarked address or one you have for them off of a statement, card or what ever and always be sure you are on a secure site when passing credit card numbers, SS# or any personal information. Secure sites start with "https" instead of "http". But remember, the "phisers"  can set up secure sites also, so it is not a guarantee if you got there from a link in an email.

If you still need help, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible - roger@creditcardsusa.net

Nothing on this page is to be construed as legal advice and is correct as far as we know but is not guaranteed. If you suspect ID theft contact authorities and proceed as directed by them.
